Choosing the right company to work on your home is a daunting task. Multiple quotes, referrals from friends, and internet research can be overwhelming.

The first thing to check when you’re researching a new company is their certifications, awards, and affiliations. These designations are often awarded by third-parties or require specialized training, adherence to a strict set of guidelines, and are awarded on a limited basis.

In addition to our A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau, ALCO has also met minimum criteria for being a reputable contractor – Lead-Safe Certification from the EPA as well as 100% Licensed, Bonded & Insured.

Our BBB Rating of A+ is reflective of our past interactions with our customers. This rating is based on our lack of complaint history, the type of business we are, how long we’ve been in business, whether we have transparent business practices (we are who we say we are and do what we say we’re going to do!) and our compliance with licensing standards in our industry and area.

The EPA’s Lead Safe Certification process allows us to show that our employees have extensively trained in practicing safety with lead, including lead-based paint.

This means that we know how to handle potentially hazardous situations withOUT endangering you and your family.

Our License

Choosing a contractor who is unlicensed leaves you open to a variety of problems, not the least of which that there is no governing body ensuring that contractor has completed all of his or her requirements.

Many times, unlicensed contractors are able to “cut corners” and provide a more shoddy workmanship – leaving your home vulnerable and your money wasted.

ALCO is one of the first companies licensed in the State of Maryland, and we hold active licenses in Virginia, Maryland & Washington D.C.

Professional Certifications and Designations

ALCO has studied with a number of manufacturers and companies to ensure that we install their materials exactly to their specifications. These programs are often rigorous, requiring us to train each installer and maintain a standard operating procedure that is approved by the manufacturing company.

Very few companies have undergone these processes – but it’s these training and certification programs that will ensure that your home remodel is done the right way, every time.

CertainTeed’s Master Shingle Applicator Program requires that our company adhere to a high standard of operation when applying CertainTeed roofing products. This includes training from the manufacturer, and consistently performing to their high standards.

Only 6% of roofing companies are Certified GAF Weather Stopper Roofing Contractors, as there’s a screening and training process to ensure that we meet their quality standards.

Simonton Windows has trained our installers on the proper way to install their windows in order to achieve weatherproofing that lasts. Additionally, we’re a Master Consultant company – which means we’ve worked with Simonton products in a high capacity and can recommend the exact product that’s right for you.

As an Authorized Soft-Lite Windows Dealer, we are approved by Soft-Lite to sell and install their product. This means that they have trained us, provided materials, and continue to expect us to provide quality service and lasting installation to those that buy their products.

As a James Hardie Preferred contractor, we are authorized by Hardie to sell and install their products. We also have taken their installation classes, as well as routinely stay up to date on the latest products and practices according to Hardie, to ensure that you get the best fiber cement installation possible.

Leaf Relief Gutter Protection System is an incredible line of defense between water and your home. As a Certified Installer, we have been extensively trained on how to install this system properly to protect your home for years to come.
