Make it beautiful with experts who will treat it right
You’ve made the decision – it’s time for a change. Whether it’s paint colors, repairing or changing a wall, or even a drastic overhaul to change the function of your space… don’t you want people working with you who understand just how important it is to get it right? Here at ALCO, we know first-hand what it’s like to have work done in your home… we’ve done it ourselves! We’ve purposefully put ourselves in your position so we can understand your frustrations and your concerns and address them before we even start on your project. Before you hire a contractor to improve your home, consider their history – how long they’ve been in business, whether they have reviews from a third-party source, and what kind of guarantee & warranty they offer on the work they do. Also consider their recommendations for work to be done. If they are too eager to sell you on a bigger project (which means a bigger paycheck for them) then they may not be the right fit for you. But also don’t be too eager to hire someone who’s happy to just follow your instruction without offering their own expertise. This may be the mark of someone underqualified to work on your home! We know that the secret to a successful project is preparation, but communication is also essential to keeping your stress as low as possible. We invite you to browse our website, read some blog posts, and explore what improvements we can help you make to your home. And when you’re ready to call in the home improvement experts to make your space beautiful, give us a call at 240-450-2545.

Painting & Molding Changes
The fastest, most cost-effective, and easiest change you can make to a room is to change the color and install crown molding. When done right, these changes can make a big impact that creates exactly the feeling you want when you walk into your home.
How we can help:
We not only have a team of expert painters and finishers on staff here at ALCO, but we have the eye to help you choose the right color for your room. We can work with existing inspiration or help steer you in the right direction for a full overhaul – whatever level of change you’re looking for!
During our complimentary consultation, we’ll work with you to determine exactly what changes you want to make and how we can help you with them.
An unfinished basement can quickly become nothing more than holiday decoration storage, a laundry room nobody wants to use, and a hiding place for unwanted stuff that never made its way to the charity shop.
But when you finish your basement, you’ve now up to doubled the square footage of your living space! You can add
a family room
a new home office
a bar and entertainment area
your dream workout room
a dedicated play space
a state of the art media room…
to name a few of your many options!
How we can help:
With our expertise, ALCO can work with you on every step of the project – from framing out the new walls to helping you choose paint and molding, to adding fireplaces and other high-value elements.
Our Renovation Process Takes The Stress Out of Remodeling
Deciding to move forward with a renovation is no small task – ESPECIALLY if that task is indoors and even more so when it’s a kitchen or bathroom that’s being remodeled. Think about it – you’ve got to handle a disruption of your entire routine. If it’s a main bathroom that’s being worked on, you’ve got to shower and get ready in a different room than you’re used to. If it’s your kitchen… well, you’d better get used to eating out! It’s a stressful situation that can be made even more stressful when you don’t have proper communication or don’t know what to expect. That’s why ALCO works tirelessly to ensure that we handle all the details of your renovation so you can reduce your stress as much as possible. We accomplish this through our 4 Steps To Remodeling Success:
Step 1: Preparation
When we say preparation, we mean two things – preparing your home and preparing you for what’s coming next! To prepare your home is simple. After the initial design consultation has happened and you’ve finalized your project, we’ll meet with you to give you the step by step of what will happen. This is when we’ll give you our anticipated start date, our projected timeline, the order in which things will happen, and more detail about what you can expect from us. We’ll also let you know how to best prepare the space we’ll be renovating. (That will always start with removing your personal effects from the space before we arrive, for the safety and security of your belongings.) On the first day of our project, we’ll begin by preparing your home to maintain the dust and “mess” that comes along with a remodeling project. We’ll tape off areas, lay down paper, and generally do what we need to do to ensure that our construction dust doesn’t track through the rest of your home.
Step 2: Communication
From the very beginning, we’re communicating with you on a regular basis to make sure you’re completely in the loop on your project. Whether there’s an unexpected delay or just a question we have, your dedicated project manager will contact you with an update on a regular basis according to your wishes. Want to be updated daily? No problem! Once a week is enough? You got it! We want you to feel completely comfortable with every step of the process, so we’ll take our instruction from you! But we also know that communication isn’t just a one-way street. You will have access to your project manager via phone and e-mail 24/7 for questions, concerns, changes and comments.
Step 3: Respect
The last thing you need is someone in your home that doesn’t respect your space. We’re here because you’ve invited us – so the least we can do is treat your home the way we’d want ours to be treated. That means we will:
- Lay down paper or plastic sheeting to protect your flooring as we move throughout your home
- Arrive and leave on time. When we’re supposed to be there, we will be!
- NEVER play loud music while we’re working – whether you’re nearby or not!
- Clean the entire workspace every night before we leave, including vacuuming and sweeping, to reduce the amount of dust in the space
- Use a builder grade hepa filter and fan system to eliminate air born dust and debris while working.
- Leave the space in show-home ready condition when the project is completed – floors mopped, surfaces wiped, and all fixtures cleaned to a shine
- Be available to you for questions or concerns when you need us
We respect you, your home and your time – we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Step 4: Quality
In everything we do, we’re committed to quality. It’s our goal that we’re always the one you call anytime you have a home repair or renovation – and in order to be that for you, we’ve got to do great work. Every company out there says the same thing – they’re in the business of good quality, they don’t cut corners, and their work speaks for itself. We say the same things too, but we take it a step further and let our actions speak for us:
- All of our workers are licensed, insured and bonded – and most of our crew has over 20 years of experience working on high-end homes in all fashions.
- ALCO is one of the only companies to offer a Lifetime Labor Guarantee on work we do on your home – AND back it up with nearly 60 years of history. (After all, your guarantee is no good if the company goes out of business!)
- We’re certified to install over 10 different brands of home improvement materials directly from the manufacturer – which means we’ve met their rigorous guidelines and expectations.
- We’ve been awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award, the Best of Houzz award AND the Golden Hammer award given to industry leaders.
- Our Houzz rating (given by consumers) is 4.9 out of 5 stars; Our Angie’s list rating is A in 26 categories; Our GuildQuality score is 4.9 out of 5.
